Out of every 10 people picked up in random, you may see that upto 9 of them use Android! In some cases, it’s even more customizable than the iPhone. But wait, we won’t be running into a debate regarding Android v/s Apple, as it will be a topic for another day. Today we will be sharing quite a few Android hacks here that some of you might even know but never used them at all. These hacks will add up to better accessibility. So, sit back and enjoy the read. Just thank us later maybe 😉!
Android Hacks – Add a Browser Shortcut for a website to your home screen
You can add a web page as a shortcut on your home screen. You may ask what purpose does it serve? Adding a browser shortcut on your home screen will eliminate the need to download the app thus saving you more space in your phone memory.
Now we’re sure that you might be viewing this using your phone. So just see the top right corner, click on the three dots menu and select the option ‘Add to Home Screen’; this will add this website on your home screen. You can check for the latest stories and posts that we have published 😊.
There are different volume sliders for different functions such as Phone Speaker Audio Output, Phone Ringer and the Alarm. So just check the speaker and alarm volume and adjust it as desired. Gone will be the days when you’d complain about not hearing the alarm or being unable to attend the important call 😉!
Android Hacks – Screen sharing/casting
Screen casting might prove to be a boon for most of us. You might have used Chromecast to use this before. But now, for every smartphone running Android 7.0 Nougat and above, this feature is just available out of the box. You can do tons of things using it. You can play games or videos on a larger screen OR if you have some presentations or photo slide shows, you can use this functionality to show your content to a larger set of people.
This feature is available on the latest version of your phone browser say like Chrome. Which are the top picks for websites that can be added to the home screen? Well, you can add any news website OR your favorite eCommerce website. This will definitely eliminate the need to download the app.
The functionality will not be as great as using the app, however, it just gets the job done for you. Moreover, it’ll save space in your phone if at all you have a storage space issue. You might have gifted your parent or grandparent even, a low-end smartphone to start with; so just go ahead a give this a try for that device😉.

Volume Hack
It happens often that you might miss an important call or the alarm to get up from your sleep just because the volume was low. But now, not anymore!
This feature is there in every phone, but I bet, we just ignore this and move on. Which results in awkward situations like these where you might miss an important call or get up late. When you click on the volume button, the most prominent one that appears is the phone speaker output volume to adjust. But if you click the three dots below, you will get two more options.
All you need to do is just open the Quick settings/toggle menu by doing a two-finger slide from top to bottom on your phone screen and there you should be able to see that option. Rest of the process involves turning on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to pair with the larger display.

Android Hacks – Multi-window/Floating Windows
Multi-window is a feature that was started by Samsung back in the day. This feature has now been assimilated by Android too. This is a great option to multitask with different apps side by side. This option as well, will be available under the Quick settings/toggle menu.
You can reply to your texts or messages using one window and you can use the other for watching your favorite video side by side.
By reading about Multi-Window, it has made me feel nostalgic about the tech that used to come with yesteryear’s phones and I wish if the same tech/feature could also bundle up with ones we have today. I believe, even you might be feeling the same. If so, let us know in the comments below about the nostalgic tech that has been washed out from today’s scenario and we will come up with a post regarding that. You can also share some hacks in the comments section below if you know and are not listed here; so, let’s build a conversation regarding the best hacks!
